Digital Affiliate Academy publishes guides on affiliate marketing for beginners, and reviews of the training programs people consider when they're starting out. The whole thing exists because this industry has a noise problem.

Search for how to start an online business and you'll find income screenshots nobody replicates, countdown timers that reset when you reload, and confident promises that anyone honest knows can't be made. It puts sensible people off entirely, or sends them spending money on the wrong thing.

Everything here is the opposite of that. Plain language, realistic timelines, and a clear answer to the question most guides dodge: what should you actually do first?

Who's behind it

I'm Kevin. I've been building online businesses for several years, but I started from a tough spot: I was laid off, and suddenly needed a legitimate way to earn from home.

What I found instead was noise. Endless hype, and almost no way to tell a real opportunity from an empty promise. What I could have used back then was a short, honest shortlist of the options actually worth considering, written by someone who had genuinely used them.

So that's what I set out to build. I only write about things I've genuinely looked into, I use the free options myself where I can, and I'd rather you skipped a purchase that isn't right for you than clicked a link and regretted it.

  • We don't promise income. There are no earnings figures, screenshots or "typical results" anywhere on this site, because there are none to show.
  • We don't use fake urgency. No countdown timers, no "only 3 spots left", no prices that mysteriously expire.
  • We don't pretend it's fast. Affiliate sites earn from search traffic, and search traffic takes months to build.
  • We don't hide the commercial side. Some links here are affiliate links, and we say so before you click one.
  • We don't sell anything we wouldn't tell you to skip. Every guide has a section explaining who shouldn't buy it.

Common questions

You recommend a product or service you genuinely rate, and earn a commission when someone buys through your link. You don't create the product, hold stock, or handle customer service. For beginners it's one of the more accessible ways to start an online business, because the cost to begin is a domain name and your own time.
Longer than most people are told. Affiliate sites earn from search traffic, and search engines take months to trust a new site. Sites that do succeed typically start seeing consistent income somewhere between months six and twelve, and plenty never do. Anyone quoting you a faster number is guessing or selling.
No technical skills. If you can use email and browse the web, you can follow the steps — setting up hosting and WordPress is covered in plain language. On cost, the tools used throughout have genuinely free plans; the only thing you may choose to pay for is a domain name, around $12 a year.
Two things. First, choosing a niche — most people pick something far too broad, build for weeks, and quietly stall. Second, continuing after the first month when nothing appears to be happening, which is exactly when the work matters most. The free checklist deals with the first one.
